La Academia de la Televisión de Estados Unidos anunció este jueves en vivo las nominaciones de la 70ª edición de los Premios Emmy, cuya entrega se llevará a cabo el 17 de septiembre en el Teatro Microsoft de Los Ángeles.

Los ganadores recibirán sus premios en una ceremonia del 17 de septiembre en Los Ángeles, que será presentada por Colin Jost y Michael Che, del programa de televisión satírico “Saturday Night Live”.

“Game of Thrones” regresó con toda la fuerza al campo de batalla de los Emmy, tras conseguir 22 nominaciones. Pero tendrá una formidable oponente con la ganadora del año pasado, “The Handmaid’s Tale”, que le sigue de cerca con 20 candidaturas, mientras que Netflix hizo historia al conseguir el mayor número de nominaciones por primera vez.

Las 112 nominaciones de Netflix le quitaron el título de la más nominada a HBO, que lo tenía desde 2001, lo que le dio a los canales de cable una razón más para temer sobre su futuro entre los espectadores y en las galas de premios.

Edgar Ramírez, Penélope Cruz y Ricky Martin recibieron nominaciones por su trabajo en “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” de FX. Mientras que Antonio Banderas fue nominado a mejor actor en una serie limitada o película hecha para televisión por su interpretación de Pablo Picasso en “Genius” de National Geographic.
